Alice Wootten

Alice Davis, Wootten, 88, of N. Prince George, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. She was born in Kenly, NC on September 18, 1933, to Arthur Lee and Pearl Peters Davis. The family moved to Hopewell, VA when she was six years old, where they made their home, until moving to Prince George County.

She is predeceased by her parents; a sister, Myrtle Lee Saunders; a brother, Ralph (Buddy) Davis; and son, Bruce Brockwell.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Willard Wootten; a daughter, Judy Brockwell (Russell); a son, Lawrence Brockwell Jr. (Kathy); granddaughter, Courtney Brockwell; and several nieces and nephews.

Alice worked at Allied Chemical for many years, then for Best Products until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, raising her rose bushes, yard work, and especially fishing. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by her family and her Sycamore United Methodist Church family, of which she was a devoted member. She was often helping with church projects, singing in the choir, and cooking for events held through the years.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice, especially her nurse, Brandi, for their kindness and expertise shown during her illness.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 9710 Old Stage Road, Prince George, VA 23875.
