Ann Marie Arthur

Colonial Heights

Ann Marie Arthur, 89, of Colonial Heights passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Born May 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Albert Kent and Mary Virginia Lambert, and was also preceded in death by sister, Linda Orell; and four brothers, Harry Lambert, Ellis Lambert, Forrest Lambert, and Fred Lambert. Marie dedicated her life to living out her Christian values, leaving a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her deep faith was a source of strength and comfort for her, guiding her through life's joys and challenges. She found solace in her connection with God and shared that sense of peace with everyone around her.  Marie's artistic talent was a true gift, and her love for painting manifested in the beautiful landscapes and vibrant flowers that adorned her canvases. Each stroke of her brush was a reflection of her appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. Her love for gardening was evident in the flourishing blooms that graced her yard. Marie found serenity in nurturing her garden, a space where she could connect with nature and create a haven of beauty. Marie also enjoyed going on vacations to the beach, particularly Nags Heads, where the rhythmic sound of the waves brought her a sense of peace. She cherished moments spent with family and friends, strolling along the shore, creating memories against the backdrop of the vast ocean. The Christmas holiday held a special place in Marie's heart, as she delighted in spreading holiday cheer. Her love for Christmas extended beyond the material aspects, as she embraced the spirit of giving, love, and togetherness that defined the season. Marie's greatest joy, however, came from the time spent with her family, and her face would light up with a radiant smile whenever her grandchildren were around. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Elizabeth Brockwell and husband, Troy; grandchildren, Kiefer Gibson and wife, Hannah, Avery Brockwell, Ella Kate Brockwell; great-grandchild, Maci Gibson; brother, Carlton Lambert; sister, Sally Wilson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
