Anne Baird Cizek

October 5, 1954 — September 23, 2025

Prince George

Anne Baird Cizek of Prince George went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, after bravely battling a four-year illness. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, favorite aunt, and faithful friend. She was a beautiful, selfless, and generous person whose thoughtful acts of giving and service brought joy to many others around her. Her constant faith sustained her.

Born in Petersburg, Virginia on October 5, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Donald P. Baird and Peggy W. Baird. She graduated in the Class of 1973 from Colonial Heights High School, then went on to earn her associate degree from Richard Bland College. A lifelong church member, she was raised at Second Presbyterian Church and was later a choir member and organist at Western Heights Baptist for 25 years, singing solos and cantatas. She served as church secretary at Swift Creek Baptist Church for over 20 years where her gentle and charitable spirit touched many lives up until her retirement in 2021. Music was both her gift and her joy, and she freely shared her love of singing and praising the Lord. She was most recently a member of Smyrna Baptist in Dinwiddie.

All who had the privilege of knowing her can attest that Anne had the gift of giving. Her many friends, nieces and nephews, and now great-nieces and great-nephews, have been blessed by her generous spirit. She enjoyed antique shopping in stores and at shows and loved the many trips to Myrtle Beach with her husband over the years.

Anne is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, William (Billy) Cizek, sister Susan Baird Reinhardt (Robin) of Williamsburg, brothers Donald Martin Baird (Karla) of Prince George and Forrest Clayton Baird (Clare) of Pasadena, and nine nieces and nephews: Aaron (Dani) , Jennifer (Dave), Daniel (Maria), Will (Emily), Jeffrey (Kristin), Leah (Josh), Edmund, Oliver and Jackson; and sixteen great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Smyrna Baptist Church, 18971 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, Virginia 23841, with a reception to follow. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smyrna Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
