April Joyce Eckton, 62, of North Dinwiddie, went home to the Lord on May 21, 2026. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Dorn Flowers and Helen Louise Smith, step-dad, Robert Boyd Carr Sr., nephew, Ronald Moore Jr., and her beloved fur-babies, Pugsley and Chop-Chop.

She is survived by her sisters, Tracy Wilmoth (Christopher), Marlana Carr, Maurie Gwaltney (David), nephews, Hunter Gwaltney, Jeff Thompson (Dana), Christopher Moore, Brandon Moore, niece, Katherine Gwaltney, great-nephews, Logan Reynolds, Oliver Gwaltney, and great-nieces, Grace Thompson, Maya Jones, Blakely Lucas.

April was known for her great faith in God, now resting in his care.

The family will welcome friends at the Colonial Heights chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
