Austin Ross Nichols

Austin Ross Nichols, 37, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024. Born February 5, 1987, he was the son of Annie Nichols and the late Arley Nichols. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Alexis Nichols; paternal grandfather, William Riggan; maternal grandparents, Gordon Ross and Maria Ross; and cousin, Vinnie Rinker.  

Austin graduated from Manchester High School and worked for Serv Pro Cleaning Service before becoming an operator at DuPont. He had a deep passion for playing guitar and loved sharing his music with others through his performances as a lead guitarist for the bands Torturepoint and Catacomb Catastrophe.  

He is survived by his daughter, Vela R. Nichols, who was the love of his life; mother, Annie Nichols; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Riggan; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  

An informal service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Matoaca Christian Fellowship, 7700 River Road, Matoaca, Virginia, 23803. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, Colonial Heights, VA.
