Barbara Ferguson

Barbara Ann Sadler Ferguson, 92, of Disputanta, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021. She was born on March 8, 1929, to the late Alva and Rosa Sadler and was a member of West End Baptist Church, North Dinwiddie. After many years of service as a Registered Nurse, including time in the Peace Corps serving in Bangkok, Thailand, Mrs. Ferguson retired from Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg. She loved animals, especially dogs and horses, and enjoyed serving her community through church activities. Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Col. James W. Ferguson; and six siblings. She is survived by her children, Jennifer F. Mize (Jerry) and Charles L. Ferguson (Kimberly); grandchildren, Austin and Grayson Ferguson, Jerry Mize II (Matthew Smith), and Sarah C. Andrews; and great-grandchildren, David W. Andrews Jr., and Kathryn and Miriana Smith. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at West End Baptist Church, 6506 Boydton Plank Road, North Dinwiddie, Virginia 23803 with Rev. Mark Hughes and Rev. Tim Brindle officiating. The family will receive guests beginning at 12 noon, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George.
