Barbara Long Hack, 91, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Born in Hopewell, VA on January 18, 1833, she was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Long She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, John Lewis Hack, Jr.
Barbara dedicated many years to the banking industry, serving a variety of roles with different banks. She started out in 1950 as a bank teller for City Savings Bank, and retired from Wells Fargo in 1992 as Vice President. She also was a member of the Petersburg Salvation Army Advisory Board for six years.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Hack Sandry (Filippo); her grandchildren, Corbin Broach (Kaitlyn), Tyler Broach, and Peyton Broach (Madison Costner); great-granddaughter, Scarlett Broach; sister, Judy Yarchin (Erick); brother, Barry Long (Kay); and numerous nieces and nephews.
All services will remain private per Barbara’s wishes. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, Colonial Heights, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
