Barbara Olinger

Barbara Ellen Repass Olinger, age 80, entered the gates of Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 31, 2022.

Barbara shared a deep love with her husband, Robert, of 60 ½ years. As a military spouse, Barbara joined Robert on an exciting 30-year adventure with the United States Army touring Europe and the United States with their two daughters. She was a former member of the Non-Commissioned Officer’s (NCO) Wives Club. She enjoyed taking care of her family, spending time with them, talking about her grandchildren, and attending church. She was a member of Community Christian Church which she attended before her health declined.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Nannie Repass; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Carrie Olinger; sisters, Elvertia Puckett, Genevieve Harris, Bertha Hutton; brothers-in-law, Charles, Bill, and Don Olinger; and sisters-in-law, Betty Jernigan, Dorothy Clear, and Mary Emma Carter. Survivors include her loving husband, Robert Olinger; daughters, Patti Olinger and Donna Jaeger; son-in-law, Bill; and the lights of her life- her grandchildren, Zachary Davis, Alex Jaeger, and Michael Jaeger. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Repass; her brothers, Charles W. Repass and Russell Repass; sisters-in-law, Ruby Jean Olinger, Polly Sue Woodward, Shirley Olinger, Brenda Hancock, and Carol Davis; faithful companion, Maggie; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 1:00p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road S. Prince George, Virginia 23805.
