Bessie Andrews

Bessie Barnes Andrews, 93, of Petersburg, died Monday, May 12, 2008 at Colonial Heights Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Bohannon Mosley; and was preceded in death by her husband, John Jefferson Andrews, a great-grandson, Sean Christopher Maitland, and a daughter-in-law, Lucille S. Barnes. Mrs. Andrews was a member of Kenwood United Methodist Church, and a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. She is survived by her sons, Billy J. Barnes, and Tommy Barnes and wife Marie all of Dinwiddie; grandchildren, Barbara Faulkner and husband David, Richard Neal Barnes, and Kimberly D. Shell and husband Jay; great-grandchildren, Evan Hunter Shell, and Jason Neal Barnes; a sister, Mary McNamara of Florida. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg with the Rev. Todd Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
