Betty Sue Robinson Hiller, 77, of Disputanta, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 5, 2024. Born in North Carolina on January 13, 1946, she was the daughter of the late George Leo Robinson and Ruth Landreth Robinson. She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George Baxter Robinson and Cassie Mae Robinson; maternal grandparents, Elmer Marion Landreth and Flossie Landreth; and her sister-in-law, Joann Robinson.
At the young age of 18, Betty Sue worked for American Filtrona as the first woman machine fixer, working alongside their top engineers, and retiring after 38 dedicated years with the company. She had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. She loved her family immensely, and was a very involved “Meme” to her grandkids and great grandkids, whom she adored.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ralph V. Hiller; two daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” H. Breedlove (Steve, deceased 2021) and Tonya H. Driskill (Troy); four grandsons, Chase Hiller, Steele Driskill (Gabrielle), Reid Driskill, and Cade Driskill; great-grandchildren, Georgie Rose and Waylynn Skye Hiller, and Tyson Steele Driskill; four siblings, Ronnie Robinson (Edith), Patsy Eaton, Jerry Robinson, and Debbie Edwards; beloved brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Renee Hiller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Interment will be private. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
