Bettysue Gill King, 59, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Born in Petersburg, VA on August 5, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Carolyn Gill.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Frank King; her son, Rick Martin; her sister, Terry Davis (Todd); and numerous friends and loving pets.

Bettysue served as a Deputy Sheriff with the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office for more than 20 years and concluded her distinguished law enforcement career at Riverside Regional Jail. After retiring, Bettysue turned to her passion for cooking, and was widely known for her meals and desserts.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA.
