Brian Humphries

Brian Keith Humphries, 47, of Richmond, Virginia passed away on October 26, 2021 after a brief illness.

A native of Sutherland, Virginia, he was a 1992 graduate of Dinwiddie County High School. Brian was a hard working and highly skilled electrician having worked for Suitt, QPS, and Shaw before joining Rudy L. Hawkins Electrical.

He was a wonderful cook, and the family couldn’t wait to enjoy whatever delicious dish he was bringing to a family reunion, pot luck, or Thanksgiving dinner.

In his pastime, he loved playing darts with his life partner, Jenna, and teaming up with his mom to take on Jenna and her dad in a friendly, but competitive game of croquet. Brian was a lifetime member of the NRA. Brian was a very kind, generous, and caring person and was always ready to lend a hand when needed by family or friends.

Even though he was an only child, he didn’t lack for “sibling” companionship. He loved and was loved dearly by his cousins: Stephanie, Robbie, Robin Faye, Eric, Billy, Megan, and Randi. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sarah E. Humphries; grandfather, Linwood W. “Bill” Humphries Sr.; uncle, Robert M. Lewis Jr.; and infant cousin, Benjamin West Heatherly.

He is survived by his loving mother, Linda A. Humphries; life partner, Jenna Loth and her parents, Jerry and Reggie Loth; aunts and uncles, Susan Humphries Heatherly (Frank), Judy Humphries Lewis, and  Linwood W. “Billy” Humphries Jr. (Sandra); and many extended family members and friends. He was kitty daddy to his fur babies, Darius Nigel and Ttar-Whodoo.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and all others who took care of Brian in the Critical Care Medical Respiratory ICU Unit at MCV Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Services will be private.
