Charles Alton Blue, 80, of Disputanta passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023. Born October 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Clay Blue and Virginia Bullock, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Love Blue.

Charlie was a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving for six years. His service in the Coast Guard molded him into a man of unwavering honor and a strong sense of duty, values that carried through every aspect of his life.

After his military service, Charlie embarked on a successful career as a member of the Plumber/Pipefitter's Union. For many years, he applied his skills and expertise to various construction projects, leaving his mark on Fort Lee and beyond. Charlie's work ethic, attention to detail, and passion for his craft made him an invaluable asset to the union. His colleagues recognized him as a reliable and knowledgeable professional, always willing to lend a helping hand or share his expertise.

Beyond his professional achievements, Charlie had a deep love for the great outdoors. Hunting and fishing were among his greatest passions. Whether he was traversing the woods or casting his line into serene waters, Charlie found solace in nature. These activities not only brought him personal fulfillment, but also provided him with opportunities to connect with his loved ones.

Family and friend gatherings held a special place in Charlie's heart. He treasured the time spent with his loved ones, recognizing the importance of building strong bonds and creating cherished memories.

As a member of the Beta Chapter of the Gamma Delta Upsilon Fraternity, he found brotherhood and lifelong friendships. His commitment to his fraternity was a reflection of his character — loyal, dependable, and always there to lend a helping hand.

He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Theresa Daniels and husband, Terry; sons, Brian Blue and wife, Jeri-Jo and David Blue and wife, Rachelle; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
