Charles Edward Peters, 93, of N. Dinwiddie, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at his residence. He was born May 4, 1930, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to the late Raymond and Mary Agnes Coyle Peters. Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Margaret Virginia “Margie” Peters and a son Richard “Rick” Peters. He was a United States Army veteran. After serving his country he went on to open Newville Electrical Company where he was the owner and operator for many years. Charles then moved to Virginia to work in the Medical Electrical Business. He was a member of Kenwood United Methodist Church in Dinwiddie. He is survived by children, Charles W. “Charlie” Peters, Anneliese Peters, Virginia Coutts, Timothy Peters (Kris) and John Peters (Leslie); seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, one brother; Phil Peters and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 17, 2023, at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Joseph Sung officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
