Charles Oliver Woodfin, 86, of South Chesterfield passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Born September 15, 1937 he was the son of the late Thurman Gilbert and Jessie Mae Woodfin, and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Horace, Junie, Melvin, Jr.; and sister, Lorraine Pritchett, Iris Frisinger.
Charles was a member of Chesterfield Community Baptist Church for many years.
He began his working career in the shipping room at Brown and Williamson Tobacco. Over the years, he worked many jobs, demonstrating his strong work ethic and adaptability. His dedication led him to retire after working for Riverside Glass in Colonial Heights.
Charles enjoyed traveling with friends to Pigeon Forge, TN. He also enjoyed his visits with family in New York.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Price Woodfin; son, Lonnie Woodfin (Martha); daughter, Lisa Boyle; grandchildren, Russell Tuttle (Hannah) and Kristopher Boyle; seven great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Danny Dykes (Debbie Cousins), Tommy Dykes (Kim Bostic); one step-grandson, Daniel Dykes (Nikki Cavey); three step-great-grandchildren; and other extended family members.
Interment will be private. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the family residence. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Online condolences may be registered at www. ealvinsmall.com
