Clara Louise Pruess Peck, 93, of Chester, Virginia, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Born on July 6, 1929, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Harry Pruess and Gladys Emelia Trappe Pruess. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Glen Dell Peck.
Clara was a longtime member of Ivey Memorial Methodist Church in South Chesterfield. She was an avid bowler, and loved to travel, especially on her annual family vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She enjoyed her time with her family and friends.
Clara is survived by her children, Glenda Miller (Mark), Jeri O’Connell (Larry), Doug Peck (Cindy), and Robin Cole (Dan); her grandchildren, Bart, Kate, and Sam Miller, Frank Guerrero, Erica Downell, Rylan, Sean, and Travis O’Connell, Chris and Kaylee Peck, Niki Lynch, and Alec and Erin Cole; great-grandchildren, Madison, Carson, Greyson, Emmitt, Waverly, Emmett, Leighton, and Cole.
The family would like to specially thank Petersburg Home for Ladies and Crater Community Hospice for their exceptional care given to Ms. Peck.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road Chester, Virginia 23831. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Petersburg Home for Ladies, 311 S. Jefferson Street Petersburg, Virginia 23803.
