Deborah Ann Harrison, 64, of Sutherland passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025. Born April 5, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Rosa Hardin and Thomas Franklin Harrison, Jr.
Born with a nurturing spirit, Deborah spent more than 40 years serving others as a registered nurse. While much of her career was dedicated to labor and delivery—helping welcome countless new lives into the world—she also cared deeply for her patients in geriatrics, treating each one with compassion and dignity.
Outside of work, Deborah found joy in the little things that made life sweet: the sound of country music drifting through her home, especially songs by her favorite band, Alabama; time spent laughing and reminiscing with her many cousins, who knew her as more of a sister than a relative; and the unconditional love she shared with her dogs—most of all, her faithful companion, Angel.
She is survived by her partner of 22 years, Al Cairnes and his sons, Timothy and Brandon; close cousins, Barbara Haddon and husband, Steve, Gary Farley and wife, Sheryl; many other cousins from all over the country; special nieces, Stephanie and her daughter, Aspen, Kristie and her son, Branson and daughter, London; and other extended family members.
Interment will take place in Southlawn Memorial Park at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
