Dennis W. Davis (Smiley), 76, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. He was born in Richmond, Virginia and was the son of the late Louis R. Davis, Jr. and Ethel P. Davis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Danny L. Davis and sister, Edna Pass.

He is survived by his sister, Carolyn D. Berry, numerous nieces and nephews, and granddaughter, Ashlyn Landrum.

Dennis proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United State Marine Corps, after his service, he served 26 years in the Chesterfield County Police Department as a Sergeant.

He had a great passion for his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, working for them in Colonial Heights and riding any chance he could get. He also enjoyed joyrides in his Ford Mustang Convertible.

Dennis stayed active in his community, volunteering at Hope Thrift and becoming a Chartered Member of the Fraternal Order of Police #47 and Blue Knights Chapel XVII.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Mike Murray officiating.  Interment will be private. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
