Donald Cameron

Donald E. Cameron, affectionately known as Tootles, 87, of S. Prince George passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Born March 28, 1933, he was the son of the late Basil E. and Margaret Bowers Cameron and was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen Cramer and four brothers, Arthur, Lloyd, Lyle and his twin brother, Ronald Cameron. A United States Army veteran, Donald proudly served his country during the Korean War. After 35 years of dedicated service, he retired as a machine operator from Honeywell. An outdoorsman, Tootles loved camping and working in his garden. He was known for being a handyman, able to fix anything he put his hands on, and also loved woodworking. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rosa Christine Cameron; five children, W.A. Comer Jr. and wife, Patti, Janet Cameron Schwalm and husband, Tim, Donna Cameron Kane, Sharon Cameron Dunn, Sandra Croft; 11 grandchildren, Lindsey Smith and husband, Austin, Billy Comer, Samantha Slate, Kristen Schwalm, Griffen Dunn, Haley Slate, Tarah Slate, Cameron Schwalm, Justin Dunn, Hannah Dunn, Owen Slate; one great-grandchild, Hunter Smith and one more on the way; sister, Imelda Evans and husband, Fred and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Southlawn Memorial Park. Remains will rest on Wednesday, March 24 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
