Donald Lee Tiedeken, 70, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on May 8, 2024. He is Preceded in death by his parents, E. G. Tiedeken, and Almeda Tiedeken.

Don Is Survived by his wife of 44 years, Michelle Vesely Tiedeken; sister-in-law, Sharon Vesely Kidd; brother-in-law, Henry Kidd; nephew, Brian Kidd (Sarah); great niece, Scarlett Kidd.

Don graduated from Colonial Heights High School in 1972. He proudly served in the Virginia State Police for several years. Working to protect the citizens of Virginia was one of the most rewarding jobs he had. Following that Don worked at UPS in various departments, from internal security investigator, warehouse manager, and retail manager.

He was a devoted UVA football fan (Go Hoos) and a season ticket holder for many years.

Don took an active interest in the Civil War and Civil War memorabilia. His vast knowledge of the Civil War has impressed many people throughout the years.

Don Loved to travel, especially spending time at the beach in Duck, North Carolina. Including dining in the seafood restaurants, as well as the gorgeous sunsets.

Don was a wonderful husband, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was loved by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held May 17, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Don’s memory, to Pamplin Historical Park 6125 Boydton Plank Road, Petersburg, Virginia, or to your local SPCA.
