Doris Louise Garcia, 91, of Hopewell, VA went home to the Lord on May 16, 2026. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was the late daughter of John and Gladis Newman. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Shirley Ray Rogers, and her son, Timothy Ray Rogers.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Malcolm Rogers (Teresa), daughter, Rebecca Reese, granddaughter, Christina Rogers, four great-grandchildren, four sisters, and one brother.

She had a great passion for cooking and enjoyed dancing along to her favorite music.

A funeral service will be held at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 on Wednesday May 27th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with a procession to Sunset Memorial Park 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831 to follow. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday May 26th, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
