Nell was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church and dedicated her life to her family, faith and community. She retired from Richmond Clarklift after many years of service and began her career working in retail with Woolworths, Lerners and Sears.

In her earlier years, she was an avid bowler and was known for her love of family gatherings, proudly serving as the "Social Director" for those she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert I. Carper; her sons, Robert I. Carper, Jr. and Timothy Andrew Carper; her grandson, James Robert Stancil; and five brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Karen C. Strickler; grandchildren Kelly Stancil and Drew Carper; great-grandchildren, Lilly Stancil-Rivera, James Stancil and Rosie Aguirre; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She loved her family.
