Eloise Faye Hinkle

Eloise Faye Hinkle, 93, of Ford, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Born in Cabell County, West Virginia, on July 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Dim Ivan Fetty and Ida Ethyl Brumfield Fetty. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James Froud Hinkle, Sr.; her brothers, Irland, Orland, Earl, Kenneth, and Valkie Fetty; and her sisters, Lucille Bostic and Okal Davis.

Eloise was a longtime member of Corinth Community Church in Ford, Virginia. She loved her church immensely and enjoyed her days singing in the choir. She retired from Dinwiddie Middle School after over 20 dedicated years working in their cafeteria. Eloise loved bowling and playing dominos locally with her friends.

She is survived by her son, James F. Hinkle, Jr. and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Carolyn H. McCormick and husband, Terry; grandchildren, James F. Hinkle, III., Allison O. Hinkle, Shannon Williams and fiancé, Chris, and Ashley Bookman and husband, David; great-granddaughters, Taylor Williams, Kailie Bookman, Trystan Williams, Kenlie Bookman, Kira Atwood, and Charlie Atwood; brother, David Fetty; sisters, Doris Neal and Betty Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Corinth Community Church, 8721 Cox Road, Ford, VA 23850. Interment will follow immediately in Corinth Community Church’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
