Elsie Louise Wade Wamsley, 88, of Colonial Heights passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Born September 30, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth R. and Elsie Oliver Wade, and was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Curtis Reginald Wamsley; and two sisters, Lillian Wright and Elaine Womack.
Louise married her childhood sweetheart, John “Moonie” Wamsley, who would become her lifelong companion and best friend. Their marriage of over 58 years was a testament to the enduring power of love, commitment, and faith.
Her devotion extended beyond her immediate family. She was a longtime and active member of Swift Creek Baptist Church, where her faith played a central role in her life.
One of Louise's greatest joys was spending time with her family. She cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by her loved ones. Her warmth and love created a strong foundation for her family, who knew her as “Annie”, leaving them with a lifetime of cherished memories.
She is survived by her four daughters, Wanda Balducci (Robert), Wendy G. Wamsley, Denise Underhill (Roger), and Lynette Pomaville (Alan); grandchildren, Paol Balducci, Lisa Sprague (Jason), Joe Balducci, Nick Balducci (Victoria), Mike Balducci, John Carty, Chad Underhill (Amber), Carolyn Underhill (Brett), Caitlin Blaisdell (Mike), Christiana Pomaville, Madeline Pomaville, A.J. Pomaville; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Zach, Julianna, Bricen, Samuel, Curtis, Natalie, Matthew, Brayden, Blake, Regan, Layla, Annabelle, Evelyn; sister, Carol Wrenn (David); sister-in-law, Inez Minetree; and other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
