Erika was a loving wife, mother, and Ma, as known by her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, baking, and feeding the birds. She enjoyed reading her cookbooks and she had quite the collection. She would read them from cover to cover in her spare time to look for a new recipe to try. She loved taking care of the hummingbirds when they came each season. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she was always ready to put up all her decorations as soon as she could. She had a deep appreciation of the outdoors. Planting flowers was her passion, and she enjoyed watching everything blossom into beauty. She loved to travel with her husband, and they took many fun trips together. She was an extremely loyal military wife, supporting her husband, raising children, taking care of finances, and keeping the home fires burning.
She will truly be missed by all those who loved her. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on November 24, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive guests at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m., an hour prior to the service.
