Ethel Royal Krenicky, 87, of Lancaster, Virginia, passed away on January 10, 2026, at Northern Neck Senior Care. She was born in Petersburg, Virginia, on December 14, 1938, to the late Nathaniel and Annie Urban Royal. She is preceded in passing by her husband, Frank George Krenicky; her parents; son, Frank “Eddie” Krenicky; sister Helen Royal Doubleday of Rockton IL; daughter-in-law, Deborah Padgett Krenicky; and great-grandson, Seth Krenicky.
Ethel worked at Woolworths in Petersburg, for 10 years. She enjoyed country music and had a love of dancing. She had a very kind heart for animals, and her family, and loved flowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Krenicky Vlk (Paul); grandsons, Christopher P. Vlk (Lucero), Jeffrey P. Vlk (Courtney), and Daniel Krenicky; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Leonard Doubleday of Rockton IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Southlawn Memorial Park 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 20, 2026, at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 3935 South Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to: Gary’s United Methodist Church, 13501 Sunnybrook Rd, South Prince George, Virginia 23805.
