Eugene R. "Rudy" Rowland

Eugene Rudolph “Rudy” Rowland 96, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at his residence. Born September 1, 1928, in Petersburg, Virginia he was the son of the late Junius Lloyd and Gady Viola Schrock Rowland and was also preceded in death by his wife, Nell W. Rowland; three brothers, Junis L. Rowland Jr., Charles H. Rowland, Donald F. Rowland; and one sister, Rachel E. Ozmar and three other siblings.

Mr. Rowland proudly served in the United States Navy and was a devoted member of Second Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, Virginia. He was also the former owner of Superior Electric Motor Repair Shop in Petersburg.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Keith Rowland and wife, Cathy, James Craig Rowland; two grandchildren, Jessica Rowland, Travis Rowland and wife, Caitlin; three great-grandchildren, Landon, Blakely, Beau; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend William C. Seay Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends Monday, May 5, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
