Eva Caroline Woodfin

Eva "Eve" Caroline Woodfin, 90, of Colonial Heights passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023. Born October 19, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Sol Benjamin and Myrtle Olivia Fleming and was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Monte Eugene Woodfin; an infant daughter; and ten siblings.

Eve dedicated her life to the role of homemaker, pouring her heart into caring for her loved ones. Her compassion extended even further, as she selflessly tended to her siblings during their times of illness. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love created a home that was warm, inviting, and full of care.

Beyond her role as a caregiver, Eve was an accomplished quilter whose creative talents were admired by many. Active in her community, Eve was a proud member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, the Colonial Heights Senior Center and the American Legion Auxiliary. Additionally, she shared her competitive spirit through friendly games of rummy, playing not just for fun but for the thrill of winning and earning those well-deserved bragging rights.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Karen Barbagelata (Guy); five siblings, Alma Walker, Mildred Morrison, Irma Gard (Ferrell), and Ann Spence (Bill), and William Fleming (Martha); sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Carol Fleming; and endless nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023 in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral on Friday from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the church.
