Francis Smith Bacigalupi, IV

Francis “Frank” Smith Bacigalupi IV, 61, of Colonial Heights passed away peacefully on Thursday August 31, 2023, at his home. Born on January 5, 1962, he was the son of Barbara Ann Harrison Bacigalupi and the late Francis Smith Bacigalupi, Sr., and was also preceded in death by his brother, Brian Thomas Bacigalupi.

Frank was a proud graduate of Colonial Heights High School, class of 1980. He embarked on his career journey in 1992, entering the automotive parts industry, where he found his true calling. For over three decades, Frank devoted his professional life to Staples Automotive in Colonial Heights as an outside sales representative, building lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike.

Outside of work, Frank had a passion for fishing and loud music. Whether he was casting a line into serene waters or cranking up the volume on his favorite tunes, he found enjoyment that allowed him to unwind from the demands of everyday life.

Frank was a devoted Detroit Lions fan, cheering on his team through the ups and, unfortunately, the many downs of each season. His loyalty to the Lions was a testament to his permanent commitment and resilience.

Above all, Frank cherished the time spent with his grandkids. He was a loving and attentive grandfather who appreciated creating special memories with them.

Frank was a simple man who found fulfillment in the basic pleasures of life. He worked to provide for his family and took pride in caring for his home.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Bacigalupi; mother, Barbara Bacigalupi; sister, Sharon Bacigalupi; nephew, Derrick Dennis and wife, Andrea; stepson, James Webb; stepdaughters, Stacy Laine and husband, Michael, Angela Bess Williams and husband Michael; five grandchildren, Kayla Laine, Carter Laine, Aaron “AJ” Webb, Arabella Bess, Dawson Williams; and other extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
