Franklin Hill Motto, 91, of Chester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025. He was born in Colonial Heights, Virginia, to the late Peter Paul Motto and Eleanor Mayes Motto.

Franklin was known for his exceptional memory and his gift for storytelling. He especially loved sharing stories of growing up in Colonial Heights on the Boulevard, working at his family’s Esso service station, and the many unique experiences he enjoyed while traveling with family and friends. He found great joy in gardening and treasured the companionship of the many pets who graced his life over the years.

Franklin’s steady presence, quick wit, and remarkable life stories will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
