George Ackinclose Sr.

George Ackinclose Sr. was born in Mansfield, Ohio on May 29,1934 to Lela and Robert Ackinclose departed this life on December 29 ,2022, surrounded by family. He joined the Air Force in 1954 from which he retired in 1976 as a Tech Sargeant. He married Sharon Best in 1963 and they had five children together. He worked at HON company for 17 years as a drill press operator. He loved to fish and play golf, was a longtime member of Chesdin Bass Club and The Cardinal Golf Club in Fort Lee Virginia. He was preceded in death by his first-born child Annette Ackinclose Stokes (1964-2022). He is survived by his wife of 29 years Sharon Best, Tari Ackinclose Corrigan and partner Chris Morton, George Jr. and Michelle Ackinclose, Barbara Ackinclose Williams and Richard Williams, Jennifer Ackinclose Melton. He had twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard  Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Wounded Warrior Project.org.
