Celebrating the Life of Glenice I. Archer

Glenice I. Archer of S. Chesterfield, VA went home to the Kingdom on October 13, 2025. She was the daughter of Stanley Cornett Sr. and Virginia Hepinstall-Cornett. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Stanley “Bubba” Cornett Jr (Tina), Wayne Cornett (Becky), David Cornett (Penny), and sister Carol Gordon (Richard).

Glenice was a woman of unwavering faith and love for her family and Jesus. Everyone could see and feel this through her actions and words. She was a founding member of Life Church in S. Chesterfield, VA (formerly Colonial Heights Assembly of God). Her passion for bringing future generations to Christ and her love for children was distinct through her service as a Children’s Church teacher. For decades she shared the love of Jesus with the youngest members of the congregation — teaching with tenderness, humor and an unshakable belief in God’s goodness. Many who sat in her classroom as children still carry her lessons in their heart today.

At home, Glenice loved the farm life that she shared with her husband of 67 years. A favorite pastime for both of them was watching the vast variety of birds that she fed daily and wildlife that stopped by for a visit. She also cherished the time, conversations and laughter shared with family and friends around her kitchen table.

Glenice will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, her dry sense of humor, her love of hotdogs and for the way you could feel the presence of God surrounding her. Her family will never forget her way of sharing God’s Word, His light and goodness through all situations and circumstances. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Glenice is survived by her husband Eric J. Archer Sr., son Eric J. Archer Jr. (Cinthia), daughters Shellie Archer, Beth Archer-Parrish (Steven), granddaughters Erica Archer and Kelly Archer, grandson Alec Archer, great granddaughter Val (Lily) Archer, great grandsons Alexander Erie, Christian Erie, Donnie Erie and Jack Archer-Koehler, brothers Johnny Cornett (Shirley), Donald Cornett (Lorna), Mike Cornett, sister Phyllis Hoyle (Jerry) and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on October 21, 2025 at 11 a.m., at:

The burial will be private.
