Ildefonso Matias Lopez

Ildefonso “Freddy” Matias Lopez, 77, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. He was born on April 30, 1948, in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico to his late parents, Lorenzo Matias Rodriguez and Francisca Lopez Caban. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ana Elba Matias Lopez, Lorenzo Matias Lopez, Carmen Gloria Matias Lopez, and Wifredo Matias Lopez.

He is survived by his lifetime partner, Elba Rodriguez Santiago; his children, Melvin Matias and Betsy Loran; grandchildren, Keisi D. Dickens, Kevin A. Figueroa, Christian O. Loran, Keili D. Loran, Miah M. Matias, and Mariah M. Matias; great- grandchildren, Ava S. Burrell, Bryson L. Dickens, Alejo E. Figueroa, and Kyson D. Dickens; and siblings, Virginia Matias Lopez, and Moises Matias Lopez.

Freddy retired from a long and dedicated career as a machinist.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia, 23834. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
