It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of James (JC) Christopher Randolph after several years of declining health, age 73 in Williamsburg, VA. Born October 11, 1951 at Ft. Bragg, 82 Airborne Division, Fayetteville, N.C., he was the son of the late Russell E. and Maxine D. Randolph, and is also preceded in death by his brother, Russell E. Randolph Jr.
Jim is survived by his former wife Theresa (Holzschuh), his current wife of 44 years, Judith (Lau) Randolph, children; step daughter Robin (Travis), son James (Danielle), step son Jason (April) and son Herbert, former wife (Melissa Peasley) companion (Samantha), grandchildren, Renee’, Zachary, Mercedes, Katherine, Elizabeth, Madeline, Ava, and Emma; brother Danny (Dorothy), and sister Delores, companion (Jack Ebbert).
James served in the U.S. Army as Military Police at Ft. Richardson, Alaska during the Vietnam War (1971-1973); returned home to Colonial Heights VA, where he previously graduated HS. James then joined the Hopewell Police Dept. where he also achieved an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement and served 7 years with the department. James was a member of American Legion Post 284 in Colonial Heights for the past 28 years. James was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Chester, VA.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church, 13028 Harrowgate Rd, Chester, VA 23831. Interment of his ashes will follow in the church Memorial Garden. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
