James “Pete” Taylor Jr., 64, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love, and unwavering generosity.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth C. Rich and James Walter Taylor Sr.; his grandparents, Susie and John Taylor, Edith Hall, and William York; his beloved daughter, Crystal Lynn Ceritelli; his best friend and uncle, “Turkey”; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Pete was known by all who met him as one of the hardest-working men you could ever know. He had the biggest heart and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was family, friends, or a stranger, Pete was always there.

He had a deep love for life’s simple joys—cars and trucks, fishing, NASCAR, football, and baseball—but nothing brought him more happiness than watching his grandchildren play sports. Above all, he was a devoted father and an extraordinary “Papa,” roles he cherished with his whole heart.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Cindi; his sister, Sherry Hinson; his beloved children, Jennifer Miller (Greg), Amy Taylor (Jeffrey), Crystal Kegris, and Austin Taylor. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Kindall “Beaux” Reeder, Eian Nathaniel Taylor, Sierra Latuche, Ty Kegris, Brodie James Casey-Taylor, Max Latuche, and Irelynn Faye Aldrich. He is also survived by countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and many, many friends who will miss him dearly.

Pete’s passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who loved him that can never be filled. Yet, there is comfort in knowing he is reunited with his beloved mother—the place he longed to be.

A Memorial Cookout celebrating Pete’s life will be held on June 13, 2026 his favorite pond on the farm. For additional information, please contact the immediate family.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
