James Wright, Sr.

James Robert Wright, Sr., 93, of Colonial Heights passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home. Born September 9, 1928, he was the son of the late James Albert and Flora Opal Wright, and was also preceded in death by his son, James Lee Warren.

James was a member of the Colonial Heights Church of the Nazarene for 43 years. A United States Navy veteran, James proudly served his country during World War II. He was a truck driver for the Teamsters Union for 39 years and also worked for Greyhound as a bus driver for six years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pauline Harris Wright; children, Paula Phillips, Robert Charles Wright and wife, Cheryl, James Robert Wright, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Teresa Boles and husband, Allen; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Anderson and husband, Joe, Ramona Snead and husband, Joe; and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the Colonial Heights Church of the Nazarene, 601 E Ellerslie Ave, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, with the Reverend Mike Lamphire officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday night, October 26, 2021, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
