James "Jim" Schweizer

James “Jim” Norman Schweizer, 76, of Petersburg, Virginia, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022. Born on December 27, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, he was the son of the late William E. Schweizer and Myrtle Louise (Ervin) Schweizer. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Alice S. Capdeville, his brother, William E. Schweizer; and many special family members.

Jim was a devoted member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, Virginia. He worked in music and radio, and also served as a Licensed Mortician during his adulthood.

He is survived by his brother, Edwin R. Schweizer; daughter, Christine Purfield (Joshua); son, George Watson (Sharon); numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; many extended family members; and special friends from Covenant Presbyterian Church and throughout his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 201 Walnut Boulevard Petersburg, Virginia23805.
