Jerry Michael Walters

Jerry Michael Walters, 79 of Prince George County, passed away on February 19, 2024. Born on December 27, 1944, Jerry was the son of the late Clintus Millard Walters and Mozella Elizabeth Walters Conduff. In his military career, Jerry retired as a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. Jerry was a member and former deacon of Oakland Baptist Church. He graduated from the University of Richmond, and achieved a Master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He was the Adolescent Program Director at Poplar Springs Hospital, as well as the director of Social Work Services and dialysis social worker for Petersburg General and Southside Regional Hospitals. He was also the owner and counselor for Child and Family Counseling. He is preceded in death by his brother, James David; and son, Jerry Michael Walters Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bevery Walters; daughter, Mary Catherine Rancka (Alan); son, Christopher David Walters (Jennifer); granddaughters, Caroline and Hadley Rancka, and Zoey Walters; and sister-in-law, Linda Matson Bazar. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Merchant’s Hope Memorial Gardens, 11302 Merchants Hope Rd, Hopewell, VA 23860. The family will receive friends Monday, February 26, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Crater Road Chapel of E.
