Joan Haswell

Joan Elaine Haswell, 76, of Colonial Heights, died Monday, December 27, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Lee Grizzard Allen, and was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Edward Haswell; a daughter, Pasty Haswell; and a brother, Rayon Allen. Mrs. Haswell was a member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Colonial Heights and was an avid bridge player. She is survived by her sons, Michael D. Haswell and wife, Pauline of Colonial Heights, Randall K. Haswell and wife, Susan of Burke, Virginia, Terry L. Haswell and girlfriend, Louanne Ambrose of Varina; grandchildren; Emily Haswell, Joshua Haswell, Corey Haswell, Katie Haswell, Kim Haswell, Kevin Haswell; sister in-law; Jane Addison and husband, Mike of Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews; and her beloved pet dog, Sam. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday December 31, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Dr. Andy Brockelman officiating. Burial to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 pm in the funeral home.
