WILSON, John, of Disputanta, VA, was 95 years old when he passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026. Born in Beaver, PA, he was the son of the late Benjamin Wilson and Elizabeth Peters Wilson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Druzilla Wilson; two sons-in-law, George Aaron Sims and Mark Emil Tiderman; and a grandson, George Aaron Sims.

He was a member of the Merchants Hope Episcopal Church, a Brighton Township Supervisor, a member of the Richmond Little Red School House, a member of the St. James Masonic Lodge – (32nd Degree), on the Prince George County Industrial Development Authority, and a graduate of Staunton Military Academy.

He is survived by his second wife, Lillian Cros Wilson; daughter, Victoria Lynn Vaden (husband, Danny Vaden); daughter, Sandra L. Sims; daughter, Bonnie A. Davis (husband, Richard A. Davis); son, John A. Wilson, Jr. (wife, Denise Wilson); daughter, Peggy L. Tiderman; step-daughter, Cynthia Cros White (husband, Christopher); step-son, John T. Cros; loyal family friend, Michael H. Meek; nine grandchildren and their loving spouses; four step-grandchildren; brother, Benjamin B. Wilson, Jr. (wife, Carol Wilson); sister, Jane Smiter; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Merchants Hope Episcopal Church, 11500 Merchants Hope Road, Hopewell, VA 23860. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of John A. Wilson to the Prince George County Fire & EMS or to Petersburg Fire & Rescue.
