John Franklin Wells

John Franklin Wells, 78, of Colonial Heights passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Born April 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Horace and Dorothy Wells, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rudy and Larry Wells. John was a lifetime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, and also attended Second Chance Baptist Church.

He was a member of the Colonial Heights Optimist Club and the American Legion Post 284. John was a proud fan of the Washington Redskins and enjoyed watching them play every game. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed playing as much as he could.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Wells and wife, Linda; niece, Michelle Morris; great-niece, Michaela Wells; and great-nephew, Trevor Morris.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in Southlawn Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
