Judith Clark Young

Judith Clark Young, 80, of Chester, passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2023. She was born in Hopewell, the daughter of the late Wallace Booth Clark and Effie Marie Vaughan. She is predeceased by her husband, Wayne Lee Young, and her in-laws, James Preston Young and Hazel Wilkerson Young. She attended Radford College in Christiansburg, VA. She started her banking career as a teller at Bank of Virginia and in later years worked as a receptionist for Animal Care Associates in Colonial Heights. A lover of all things British, she enjoyed everything from English breakfast tea to the mysteries of Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot. She enjoyed being at home, cooking, and welcoming family for countless gatherings. She also enjoyed vacationing on Chincoteague Island, where she loved seeing the famous ponies and eating good food. She is survived by her loving daughter, Hannah Lee Young; sisters, Courtney Newton and Leah Brantley; brother, Vaughan Clark and his wife, Patty; brother, Bruce Clark; niece, Olivia Newton and her husband, William Harriman; niece Erin Clark; nephew, Jeremy Clark and his wife, Tricia; nephew, David Clark.

Private interment will take place in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 South Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory.
