June Carter Stevens, 90, of North Dinwiddie, VA, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023. Born in Chesterfield, VA, on November 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Alton Carter and Ida Elliott Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claiborne Randolph Stevens, Sr.; her son, Claiborne Randolph Stevens, Jr.; granddaughter, Lucy Stevens; brother, Jimmy Carter; and two sisters, Rita Puckett and Carolyn Marshall.
June dedicated 36 years working for Allied Chemical in Chesterfield, VA. In her retirement, she worked many years for McDonalds making homemade biscuits. June adored her family immensely, and spending time with them was what she enjoyed most.
She is survived by her son, Glenn Carter Stevens and wife, Lori Kirks Stevens; daughter-in-law, Debbie E. Stevens; grandchildren, Heather Sowards and husband, Joe, Matthew Stevens and wife, Rachel, Michaela Stevens, and Shelby Stevens; great-grandchildren, Austin Sowards, Halie Sowards, Sawyer Stevens, and Mason Stevens; her sister, Katherine Pearson; brothers, Cecil Carter and wife, Martha, Wilson Carter, Michael Carter and wife, Joyce, and AB Carter and wife, Pat; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024, in Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W Hundred Rd Chester, Virginia 23831, with the Reverend Larry House officiating.
