Lee Irene Shannon, 83, of Richmond, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service to others on April 6, 2026. A devoted member of For Lee (Catholic) and Memorial Korean Catholic Church in Richmond, Virginia, she found strength and comfort in her faith, often spending time reading her Bible and nurturing her spiritual life.
Lee dedicated her working years to serving others at the DFAC in Fort Lee, Virginia. She took great pride in feeding military service members, always ensuring they felt cared for while away from home. Her kindness and dedication touched many lives and will not be forgotten.
She had a true gift for gardening and was known for her remarkable green thumb—able to grow just about anything she planted. Her garden was a reflection of her patience, care, and love for life.
Above all, Lee cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found immense joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will remain in their hearts forever.
Lee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William B. Shannon, as well as her mother and father.
She leaves behind oldest daughter, Mary Ann Shannon Davis, husband Derrick Davis; grandchildren, Mia Davis, Mika Davis, Malia Davis; youngest daughter, Rosemary Shannon Ray; granddaughter, Juliana Marie Shannon Owens; great grandkids, Chase William Hall, Giovanni Lucas, Shannon Owens; and family who are in Seoul Korea, California and New York.
She had a large and loving extended family who will continue to honor her memory and carry forward her legacy of compassion, faith, and devotion.
Lee will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
