Buddy was a proud graduate of John Marshall High School, where he served as Cadet First Captain. Following graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II.
Raised in Richmond, Buddy later made Colonial Heights his home, where he devoted his life to family, faith, service, and community. He was married to his beloved wife, Doris Seay Fox, for 52 years, sharing a life rooted in love and commitment until her passing.

He was a charter member and past president of the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad and served the youth of the community as Commissioner of Little League Baseball in Colonial Heights for more than 20 years.
A man of deep faith, Buddy was an active member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon and in numerous other roles. He was the church's oldest surviving male member, a distinction reflecting a lifetime of devotion.
Buddy's passion for public safety and civic service was evident through his leadership as a team leader for the Chesterfield County Motorist Assist Program. He also volunteered extensively with the Chesterfield County Police Department, assisting with training, advising the Emergency Response Team, serving with hostage negotiators, and later as former president of Chesterfield County Crime Solvers.
In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Fox; his sisters, Mildred Burrows and Virginia Matthews; and his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Fox.
