Leroy Williams, Jr., 89 years old, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. He was cared for by his loved ones and Chester Intrepid Hospice. He was a member of The Celebration Center in Chesterfield, VA and loved Pastor Danny Ray and Sharon Meads. He retired from Southern States after 42 years of service as an Office Manager at their Grain Mill on Hull Street - Manchester location. After he retired from Southern States, he enjoyed working at Food Lion for several years as a bagger. Leroy was an amazing southern style cook! He loved cooking for his family. He also loved lemon cake, dark chocolate candy, butterbeans, and Hanover tomatoes. He enjoyed reading the Bible and watching old religious movies too. Ben Hur was his favorite! He also loved watching old westerns, Joel Osteen, football games, and John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever and Michael. His favorite pastimes were playing cards, gardening, listening to good music and dancing (especially the Twist), saltwater fishing, walking on the beach, visiting Adams Acres Farm and the Bellwood Flea Market, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Flossie Williams, his father Leroy Williams, Sr., his mother Louise Williams, and his sister, Naomi Brents.  Leroy is survived by his wife Edna Williams of 60 years, his sister Muriel Bennett, and his brother Paul Williams. He has 5 children: Jennifer Corrigan (and Jack Custalow), Mike Williams (and Tootie), Karen Loehr (and Frank), Brenda Arnold (and Albert), and Deborah Persinger (and Steve.) He has 13 grandchildren: Kelsey and Lyndsay Corrigan; Kala Martin (and Nathan), Katie, Karlee, and Michael Williams; Josh Thomas (and Amanda), Sarah Perutelli (and Tony), and Jessica Loehr; Chris Arnold and Kristal Zink (and Mike); Aaron Persinger (and Lisa) and Amanda Childs (and Alan.) He also has 16 great grandchildren. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed! We look forward to seeing him again one day in Heaven! In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Colonial Heights Food Pantry https://www.chfoodpantry.org to assist with the local Meals on Wheels Program and Crater Community Hospice https://cratercommunityhospice.org to assist those in need of local Hospice services. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 pm on Friday, December 30, 2022 at The Celebration Center 879 Research Road North Chesterfield, VA 23236 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4:00 p.m.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
