Loueen Minson

Loueen Droddy Minson, 88, of Colonial Heights passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at her residence. She was a native of Louisiana and the daughter of the late Johnny and Iva Droddy.  Mrs. Minson was preceded in death by her husband, George William Minson, Sr.; a granddaughter, Melissa Doris Edmundson; three brothers, Clifton, Buddy and Junior; and three sisters Cleo, Doris and Vera Lee. She was a lifetime member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, George William Minson II, John Henry Minson, and Mark Allan Minson; two daughters, Elizabeth Minson Deeb (Michael) and Danita Minson Archer; grandson, Peter Stephen Pickering (Robyn); great-granddaughters, Eloise Margaret Pickering and Beatrice Elizabeth Pickering; great-grandson, to be born in February; sister, Barbara Ann Willis (Andrew); brother, Durelwood Droddy (Lucy); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 in Oakwood Cemetery, 3101 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, Virginia 23223.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Children’s Hospital Foundation, 2924 Brook Road, Richmond Virginia, 23220 (Memo- Child Life) or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
