Luis Alfredo Jaime

Luis Alfredo Jaime affectionately known as Buddy, was born on February 16, 1942 in the Dominican Republic to his loving parents, Alfredo Luis Jaime and Evelyn Hazlehurst Jaime. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and his sister Noris.

At an early age, Luis made his home in New York City, where he would build a life filled with family, friendship, and service. He proudly worked as a bus driver for the New York City Transit until his retirement and was a proud member of the MTA Teamsters Union.

Known for his big heart, generous spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need, Luis set an enduring example of what it means to be a loving husband, father, and friend. His presence brought light and joy to those around him, and his memory will be forever cherished.

Luis was a devoted family man who leaves behind a legacy of love. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Jaime of 36 years, his three sons from his previous marriage; Wilfred (Linda) of Toms River, NJ, Alfred (Kelly) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Joel (Shelia) of Concord, NC and Johan from a previous relationship; of NYC, his sisters; Ann (John) of Yonkers, NY, Melba of Edgewater, NJ, Miriam (Edward) of Riverdale, NY. Luis was blessed with bonus children from his loving wife Carolyn; Fred Harris (Barbara) of Chester, VA and Carolyn Harris-Owens of Chester, VA.

Luis’s family continued to grow, and he leaves behind six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. His love for family knew no bounds.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will follow in Mount Minnis Memorial Park, 15151 Woods Edge Road, S Chesterfield, VA 23834.
