Marguerite White Tatum

On July 16, 2026, our most cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Marguerite (“Rusty”) White Tatum, joined her beloved husband, Robert and son Steve, in Heaven.

Marguerite was born April 3, 1926, in Ayer, Massachusetts. After finishing her education in New England she moved with her family to Virginia where she met her future husband, Robert. After a few years in San Diego while Robert was in the Navy, they settled in Virginia.

Marguerite was predeceased by her parents Hugh and Hilda White, her loving husband of 72 years Robert, and her first-born son Steve. She will be greatly missed by her children Mark (Patricia) and Karen (Tony), grandchildren Jennifer (Marc), Megan (John), Anthony (Victoria), Andrew, and Christopher (girlfriend Mckinsley), and great-grandchildren Marlee, Emmree, Beres, Maddox, Remy, Emily, Claire, Tatum, and Monroe.

She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Petersburg, VA, and loved her time at the beach. Rusty had a gift for seeing the beauty in this world and thoroughly enjoyed the long life God blessed her with. She was thrilled to have a joyous jubilee with family and friends for her 100th birthday. Her wish was for us was not to mourn her passing but to celebrate her life!

A graveside service will be held at Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Stuart, VA on August 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
