Marilyn Hirst Chambers

Marilyn Hirst Chambers, 91, of Prince George passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2023.  Born on December 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Rollin Whipple Vogt Sr., and Lily Hirst Vogt, and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Chambers; her daughter Barbara Schwertfager; her sisters, Zelda Kittell, and Dorothy Vogt Shuart and brother, Rollin W. Vogt Jr.

Marilyn was a longtime member of Colonial Christian Church in Colonial Heights, Virginia.  For over 20 years, she worked for Roundtree Pontiac as an office manager and bookkeeper before retiring. She loved sewing and going to the Hopewell Community Center every Tuesday and Thursday to play games with her friends.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Moseley, and Sally Saylor; son, Peter Scott; sister, Donna Daughenbaugh and several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday December 13, 2023 at the Colonial Heights chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
